In a unexpected partnership that breaks usual predictions, the game developer has unveiled an in-game partnership between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the renowned anime series Attack on Titan. The surprising Thanksgiving event operates from November 25 through December 22, offering complimentary additional story content for Shadows players.
Peculiar Mission Disclosed
According to the authorized statement, "An unusual meeting pulls protagonists Naoe and Yasuke into a original mission, where rumors of prohibited rituals and monstrous metamorphoses reverberate through the shadows." The storyline features a "strangely attired woman named Ada" who tasks the duo with venturing into the Crystalline Cavern—a key location from Attack on Titan—to save her ally from a hidden cult.
The adventure focuses on "strange experiments and a monstrous adversary" and is available to all players who have unlocked the Yasuke character.
Familiar Places and Metamorphoses
The trailer features the Hidden Temple from Attack on Titan redesigned as the Crystal Cave. This important location was formerly where the Reiss royal family transmitted the Founding Titan ability through ages. The preview concludes with a striking sequence showing a character, presumably the prisoner, morphing into a Titan that looms over Naoe and Yasuke.
Unique Rewards and Bonus Content
Players who finish the quest will obtain an exclusive katana alongside several items hidden throughout the area in concealed chests. The update also includes purchasable Attack on Titan item packs, featuring:
- Titan-based outfit for Yasuke
- Mikasa attire for Naoe

Latest Free Story Content
This patch also adds the game's newest no-cost story content, titled "The Enigma." This humorous quest partners Naoe and Yasuke as they swap distinctive techniques: Naoe introduces a theatrical version of Yasuke's war kick, while Yasuke learns non-fatal stealth takedowns. True to its name, "The Enigma" also contains a original environmental puzzle that may finally explain some unanswered questions from the main storyline.

This marks scarcely the primary time the Assassin's Creed franchise has partnered with well-known anime series. The series earlier included a 2020 crossover story uniting Assassin's Creed: Valhalla with Makoto Yukimura's Vinland Saga.
